Our last full day in Phnom Penh was pretty relaxed with a morning spent up in the roof top pool.
After a few hours of swimming and lounging around in the sun, we enjoyed lunch from the hotel. Once again we tried to get into the Royal Palace… we had checked opening times online but couldn’t seem to see a time for last entry, so we jumped in a tuk tuk this time properly dressed. When we got there the guards on the door said it had closed just 3 minutes ago… so we gave up on the Palace, we’d rather not give the King any more of our money and went for a walk along the riverside promenade instead.
As it was our last night here, we went in search of some local delicacies…in the form of insects. Ryan purchased half a bag of crickets fried with chillies, surprisingly he seemed to enjoy them. I chickened out and felt very queasy as I watched him tucking in to his evening snacks. After giving the rest of the bag to a small old lady, who seemed very pleased we went in search of some more appetising food and visited our favourite restaurant Friends one more time.
