We slept so well last night. Verse has the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept on, and the sounds of the sea made for a great night’s sleep.
We wake up and head down for breakfast. This place is pretty ‘cool’ with a menu full of delicious and brunchy choices. Ryan went for a breakfast burger and Lisa poached eggs with avocado and bacon. Super nice and a welcome change from traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts. They also serve proper coffee, which keeps Ryan happy and tea in a tea pot for Lisa.
We enjoy a relaxed morning catching up on some work, as the wifi is pretty good here and being a co-working space we’re surrounded by other travellers working away on their laptops. We’re determined to take today a bit slower after our treks in Ella, so head to the beach in the afternoon.
We went for a long walk across the sand (not so relaxing) and sat for an hour or so on some rocks watching birds fishing. Then strolled back and enjoyed some time in the sea, it was pretty rough, so we just splashed around rather than swam, but still a welcome break from the heat.
On the evening we went for a walk along to Hireketiya again for Dinner, and after last night’s awkward encounter with the waiter we decided to try somewhere different and stumbled upon Salt. This place was really nice and relaxed, with a good choice of food, we even had Chocolate Brownie and Ice Cream for pudding, which was very tasty treat!
Tomorrow we repeat more of the same, with beach time, and dinner in Hireketiya!!
